I Lay It Down

I have been thinking in the past couple of days, as thinkers do, that everyday I seem to make so many plans for that day, the next day, the next week, year and my whole life. I have so many things that I often think to myself ‘I’m gonna do that in a year’ or ‘I’m gonna do that in 6 months.

When I think like this it is so easy to end up forgetting that actually all of my wants should be for God’s glory and not my own. So much of the time I seem to fall into this default setting though where it is just all about me and what I want and not about God and what He wants.

I think this song is a great response to feeling like that. To sing these words out or just to echo them in your heart everyday is a great thing to do I think, but something that is very serious to say if you don’t actually mean it. As I focus on what Jesus has done for me and will do, it makes me want to lay it all down at His feet.
